Our climate commitment

Brunswick is taking direct action to reduce our carbon footprint

Brunswick is an advocate of UN Sustainable Development Goal 13, which calls for urgent action to combat climate change.

As the world’s leading critical issues firm, we work closely with clients across the world, supporting and enabling them to be positive actors on climate change and inspiring others to do the same by effectively communicating their commitments and actions.

We also recognize the importance of reducing the impact of our own carbon footprint.  Since publicly signing up to the UN Business Ambition for 1.5°C and the UN Race to Zero in June 2020, we have worked to understand our carbon footprint as a firm.

We have set science-based targets to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2028. To achieve this, we are taking steps to decarbonize our global operations, including our travel footprint.

Our targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which mobilizes organizations to set science-based targets and boost their competitive advantage in the transition to the low-carbon economy.

  • 100 % renewable electricity by 2025
  • 38.8 % reduction of absolute Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions (direct emissions and purchased electricity) by 2028
  • 54.6 % target for reduction of travel Scope 3 GHG emissions per employee by 2028 (from a 2019 baseline)
  • 50 % suppliers having SBT by 2025

Our third climate update sets out the progress we are continuing to make against our 2028 1.5°C aligned emissions reduction goals and net zero ambition pathway.
