Partner, Energy & Resources Global Lead

Stephen leads Brunswick’s Energy, Renewables & Resources group in the United States and co-leads the firm’s global sector team.
He advises some of the world’s biggest energy and automotive companies on communications strategy in public affairs, crisis and financial communications and corporate reputation issues. His experience includes advising Saudi Aramco in support of its initial public offering; BP in connection with litigation over the Deepwater Horizon accident; and leading global auto makers on communications strategy related to trade policy and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Prior to joining Brunswick in 2011, Stephen was a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal for 11 years in Germany and Washington, where he wrote about out the global energy and automobile industries. He has also written the Dallas Morning News and appeared on the BBC, CNBC, C-Span, FOX and other networks.
He holds a B.A. in government from the University of Virginia.
