George heads the firm's Washington, DC office, co-leads the global cybersecurity and privacy practice, and advises the clients on a range of crisis, public affairs, and geopolitical matters.
In over ten years at Brunswick, he has advised numerous corporations, professional service firms, and non-profit institutions across multiple industry sectors and high-stakes issues ranging from major acquisitions and divestitures, to complex multinational cyber breaches, to cross-border regulatory issues. In addition to advising on real-world crises, George is a specialist in leading crisis simulations for corporate leadership teams and boards.
George was previously the Pentagon Press Secretary at the U.S. Department of Defense and chief spokesman and director of public affairs for the Central Intelligence Agency. He also consulted on corporate strategy at IBM and Booz Allen Hamilton.
He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from Georgetown University, and a B.A. and M.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. He serves on the board of the Future of Privacy Forum and the advisory board of the University of Chicago’s Project on Security and Threats.
