Established in 2008 under the auspices of Princeton University, Tsinghua University, and the Ford Foundation, the China Education Initiative is an innovative non-profit organization taking a unique approach to eliminating educational inequity in China by enlisting the US and China’s most promising future leaders in the effort. Through the institution of a US-China Teaching Fellows program, CEI meets the pressing need for exceptional teachers in China’s understaffed low-income rural schools, while fostering a constituency of young leaders positioned to advance the cause of educational equity and effect long-term systemic change.
